Exciting learning both outdoors and in!

Sports Leaders 2018-19

We hosted Y5 sports leader event this week led by Gill Smith our Cramlington Sports Partnership leader. There were some brilliant roles models in Y5 supporting a morning of outdoor activities. The quote of the day was ‘That was epic’.

Harvest collection

We would like to request the usual small donations of food items for the local food bank as part of our annual harvest thanksgiving. This year the foods they need most will be added to the class facebook pages.

Felt tip pen recycling in school

The children have set up a recycling area for felt tip pens. Please feel free to send any old felt tips in so we can recycle! Thank you.

Homework achievements

As a school we want to recognise and incentivise the homework that children complete weekly by rewarding the classes who have the highest proportion of children completing homework. Weekly homework includes Mathletics, TT Rock stars, regular home reading recorded into the reading records, and the topic work. Some amazing creations in Y4 this week who were designing and building a Viking settlement.

Children’s party invitations

Please feel free to use the drop off and collection times in the school yard for sharing children’s party invitations. While it’s great fun having birthdays, school staff cannot take responsibility either for handing out invitations or for supplying class lists for both safeguarding reasons and in terms of effective use of staff time. We hope you understand our need to protect both the children and staff time.

October is photo time!

The school office will send off any photo orders if received by Friday the 11th October. Alternatively you can contact Tempest directly, using details on the envelopes sent home today. The children looked very smart in their photos today! Great family presents for Christmas!

Parent consultations

This term our parent consultations will take place on Wednesday the 14th November. Staff send out preference forms for you to express any time preferences on Monday the 5th November when we return to school.

Year 6 Sats information Thursday 18th Oct 6pm

Mrs Costello will present examples of SATs papers and will provide tips on how you can support your children during this important year. There will also be an opportunity to hear about choosing a secondary school and a chance to hear from last year’s pupils too!
