Our mindful meditation in May! Our golf photos above show the wide range of golfing achievements that happened last Friday from Y3! And Year 5 and Year 6 visited the Nissan factory. We now have two classes of budding engineers who were shown a fully working car assembly line as well as hearing all about how the robotics work to design and make the vehicles. They were delighted with their goody bags and the Japanese lucky charm gift that they returned to school. Thanks Nissan!

Year 1 and 2 are also excited to be able to get to the Tyne Theatre tonight to see Julia Donaldson’s ‘Zog’ production. We were so lucky that the production is on, coinciding with their Julia Donaldson topic. A special thanks to the staff team giving up their Friday tea time to be able to take the two classes as there was no matinee performance.
Mindfulness in May
This week we started the first of a series of assemblies supporting the children to have some time out of all the busy- ness of life to learn how to become more mindful, control their breathing, concentrate on the here and now, and temporarily forget any worries or concerns that they have. We tried this on Tuesday and Wednesday and you can see how the children took their minds away to a castle and a tree house!
Parking
Many thanks to those families who have been mindful of children’s safety when they are collecting and dropping off at school. We really appreciate you putting the children’s needs first. We will continue to work with the community police, the local neighbours and our families and children to maintain the profile of this important matter.

Please note we have had a couple of threadworm cases in school. Please check out the advice about worms on this link.
Ashleigh’s outdoor idea…
In forest school we are working with the children to create a CVPS garden where children will create a pebble to represent their time at CVPS. When they leave our school they can take their pebble with them and remember their time at our school forever. Please bring in a pebble to help with our collection.
