Shoebox appeal, Children in Need 2017 and preparations for our special celebration event have been taking place this week.

Early Years

This week the early years children have been Christmas shopping with their money for the shoebox appeal. They visited Manor Walks, looking at special features of Cramlington on
the way, and then they chose toys, games, hats and gloves for the shoeboxes. Thank you to all the donations from the cake sale earlier this term which funded this worthwhile cause. It was great to hear the class share their excitement with us when they returned!

Children in need 2017

We are looking forward to seeing the children bringing in 50p for the ‘guess the teddy’ competition which will be brought around the classrooms each day by the school council and on Friday 17th November next week, they can dress up with a spotty accessory – hair accessories, socks, tights spotty slippers, spotty coat.

Year 5

Year 5 have been exploring maths mastery this week with some innovative ways of problem solving and reasoning. We also loved seeing their amazing boats that they constructed for homework. Well done Year 5!

Special Delivery!

As well as two new babies to families in school this week, there was also a special delivery to every class! They received branches, twigs, and decorations that are going to
be used to decorate the yurt and the pathway to the yurt! Children have been busy in their classes being incredibly creative. Some have used their knowledge of knots to tie
the points of stars together, some have sewn beautiful felt with touches of Christmas sparkle. These will help to pave the way to see Santa next week!

Saturday 25th November

Come and Celebrate our 5th Birthday! All the times of the activities and showcase events have been sent out this week on letters to parents. We really hope everyone can pop
in even if just for a short time.

Family Christmas dinner

Adults wishing to reserve a ticket for their children’s Christmas dinner can buy them from the school office or they will be on sale on Saturday the 25th November at our grand open day. Adults tickets £6 each, children at the usual excellent value price of £2 per meal.

Reading at school

I am aware that some children have not been bringing reading folders to school daily. Children should have their reading folders in school every day. Please seek a new one from the school office if you need one or speak to your child’s class teacher.

New babies in our CVPS family!
